A note from our Pastor:
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
“So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Tim 3:16
We believe that the Word of God is the key to unlock our understanding of scripture and that by faith we respond to the truth. The understanding of the Bride of Christ is to be found in the Bible, and the Bride of Christ is the church.
There is a brief diagram included
of Christ's church (His doctrine),
and the churches founded by man.
The body of Christ is the church:
1Cor 12:27, Col 1:18.
The church is likened to a building
with Christ as the Chief Cornerstone.
1Cor 3:9, 10, 16, 17; Eph 2:19-22, 1 Tim 3:15.
Christ Jesus is the Bridegroom for the Bride:
John 3:29, 2 Cor 11:2, Eph 5:23-27.
The Bride cannot be Israel,
for Israel is God's wife:
Isaiah 54:5-7, Jer 3:8,14; Ezek 16:30-33;
*Reunion with God takes place on earth
*Israel called a wife not a bride
*Israel defiled herself- True churches
are those that have remained chaste. Rev 3:4
*The Bride of Christ is not all the redeemed.
*All the redeemed will be there. Rev 21:2,3
*John the Baptist, saved, declared that he was not part of the Bride. John 3:29, Luke 1:15,16; 7:24-28
Do we have to go to church?
Why do we have church Sunday evening and on Wednesdays? Is attending, being a member of a church important? The first step in answering these questions is to determine if you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. That should settle the question of do you have faith? If yes, then you have the Holy Ghost indwelling you.
To be a true disciple, follower of Christ Jesus, one must be willing to submit to God's will in your life. The Lord Jesus started His church during His earthly ministry (Matt. 16:18). Its members were born-again disciples of John the Baptist, baptized by him. The Lord Jesus calls them (apostles) unto Himself (Eph. 4:11). In Acts 20:28 we are told God purchased the church with His blood. The church had its meeting in Acts 1 for prayer and selecting Iscariot's replacement. Acts 2 is the church empowered by the Holy Ghost and through the preaching of the gospel, thousands are saved, baptized, and added unto the church (Acts 2:41). They meet daily (Acts 2:42).
Church is where we worship, fellowship, pray, praise, and bring our tithes. Hebrews 10:25 states we are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves as we see the day approaching. We attend church to show God how much we love Him. How much do you love God and His designated place of worship? Are you being faithful? Just a thought!
